WCT ARCTIC CUP MIXED DOUBLES 2018

SYSTEM OF PLAY

Rules. WCF Rules are applied.

Competition Format. 2 pools (A and B) of 5 teams playing in a round robin. Top two teams from each pool will advance to the play-off. 

Play-off System: semi-finals, final & bronze medal game. 

Games. All games will be of 8 ends. Extra end(s) will be played to determine a winner.

Ranking. The following criteria will be used to rank the teams at the completion of the round robin:

1) The win/loss record;

2) The record of the games between the tied teams;

3) Draw Shot Challenge (DSC) – average distance of all the individual LSDs which were delivered by a team during the round robin.

Pre-game practice. Hammer and stone color assignment. Each team will have a six (6) minute practice followed by two LSDs (the first stone with a clockwise and second stone with a counter-clockwise rotation).  Teams listed first in the schedule have the first practice. Teams listed first in the schedule for the round robin games play the stones with red colored handles, teams listed second play the stones with yellow colored handles. 

Team Time-outs. Each team may call one 60-second time-out during each game and one 60-second time-out in each extra end.  

Sweeping rules & equipment. WCF rules are applied. 

Prize Fund & Split 

Winner: $ 10,000

Runner-up: $ 6,000

3rd: $ 4,000

4th: $ 2,000

$400 per game for winners of round robin games (20 x $400 = $8,000)

Total: $30,000

JUNIOR ARCTIC CUP

SYSTEM OF PLAY

4 teams playing in a round robin. Teams ranked 1st and 2nd after the round robin play in the final and teams ranked 3rd and 4th play in the bronze medal game. 

All games consists of 2 ends. Team get 2 points for the win, 1 point for the draw and 0 points for the loss.
