Introducing Canadian team Kerri Einarson

We complete presentation of the participants of the Arctic Curling Cup, which starts on May, 23, on the ice arena "Taimyr" in Dudinka.

In 2017 at the Arctic Curling Cup Canada was represented by the team of Olympic champion Jennifer Jones. Then the Canadians reached the final, where they lost to Anna Sidorova's team.

This time from Canada will come not so titled team, but this season the team Kerri Einarsson has gained great success.

Together with Kerri in Dudinka will perform:

    Val Sweeting

    Shannon Birchard.

    Briane Meilleur

This season, Kerri began to play with new partners, and, judging by the results, it was the right choice. One of the most striking achievements was the victory in April at the prestigious Players' Championship in Toronto. The tournament was attended by almost all the leading teams in the world, and in the final team Einarson beat the 2018 Olympic champions from Sweden (skip Anna Hasselborg).

At two more Grand slam tournaments, team Einarson reached the final this season, thanks to which it takes one of the highest places in the ranking of this season of the World Curling Tour series. Team Einarson – the only one of all the participants of the Arctic Curling Cup, who this season reached the final of the tournament "Grand slam".

Kerri has never played at the World Championships because of the very high competition level in Canada (in recent years, Jennifer Jones and Rachel Homan teams represent Canada at the World Championships and Olympic Games), but Kerri’s progress this season suggests that there is another very strong team in Canada. Of all the members of the team Einarson only Shannon Birchard has the title of world champion 2018, which she won in the team Jennifer Jones.
